Text Box: The ancient village of Billingshurst lies at the start of the Roman road to Billingsgate. Its High Street, with tea shops and the medieval church of St Mary’s, is half a mile from Billingshurst station. The station is a good place to start walks in the Low Weald countryside. Or you can book a seat on the Villages Transport Link to visit Shipley Windmill, the Wey & Arun Canal or one of the area’s picturesque villages. A bus service to the town of Petworth also stops near the station. There are frequent direct Trains from London, Croydon, Gatwick, Horsham, Arundel and Bognor Regis 7 days a week, and from Portsmouth and Chichester from Monday to Saturday.
